Nursery Admissions

East Herrington Primary Academy offers up to 15 hours of free Nursery education to 3 – 4 year olds and the option of an additional 15 hours of free childcare to eligible families.  We accept children into the Nursery class from the September after the child’s 3rd birthday.  For more information about Nursery admissions and sessions available, please contact the school directly.

Nursery registrations can be made once your child has reached their second birthday. To do this please complete the below nursery application form and email it to EHPA@balmorallearningtrust.co.uk along with a photo/copy of your child’s birth certificate and Council tax bill as proof of address.

Reception Admissions

Children eligible to apply for a Reception class school place will be informed of the process via a letter from Sunderland Council, usually in the September of the preceding academic year.  These letters are distributed via Nursery schools and given to those children registered at their setting.  If your child does not attend a Nursery, please contact the Life, Family and Learning team at Sunderland Council directly on 0191 520 5553 to find out more.

PLEASE BE AWARE:  From September 2018 the allocation of places will be updated to include attendance at EHPA Nursery as part of the admissions criteria.

In-Year Admissions

If you are applying for an in-year place at East Herrington Primary Academy, please complete the Primary School Transfer Form below.

All application forms received will be considered by the school according to the published admissions criteria, taking account of current year group waiting lists if applicable. East Herrington Primary Academy has a published admissions number of 60 children per year group.Upon receipt of the transfer form from your child’s current school, we will notify parents and carers of the outcome of the application within 10 school days and provide a written decision within 15 school days.
