What is well-being?
Health and well-being is not a single subject or class. It is organised into six areas:
- social and physical well-being;planning for choices and changes
- physical education and sport;food and health
- substance education
- relationship education.
What do we want?
We want all children and young people to be able to develop positive relationships and learn about health and well-being to ensure they acquire skills to live healthy,happy lives
What are our well-being aims?
At East Herrington Primary Academy we are committed to promoting resilience and positive well-being for all of our pupils and staff. We recognise wellbeing as a state of being comfortable, happy and healthy. We view mental health as being the responsibility of everyone, across the whole school community. We will strive to create an environment which has a whole school approach. We aim to provide excellent mental health support, understanding and intervention. We will put well-being at the heart of our school to ensure successful learning .
At East Herrington Primary Academy we aim to support our children, staff and parents to ensure their mental health and wellbeing are our priority.
We will provide our children with a toolkit of resources to use at times when they feel sad, anxious or worried.
We have two wellbeing areas in school for children to access when they need quiet time or time to deal with their emotions. These areas are cosy, stocked with mental health and wellbeing books, worry boxes and calming activities.
Our school will always endeavor to support your child and yourself as much as we can however if you feel as though you need some additional support then below is a list of agencies and resources that might be able to help.
