The Nursery curriculum aims to support children as they develop key skills in both the 3 Prime areas of Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Communication and Language and also Physical Development, as well as the 4 Specific areas of Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design.

The possible lines of development will depend on the interests of the children. These will be developed through the use of stories, visits and visitors. They generally encompass the changing seasons, major festivals, the weather, people who help us, traditional tales and life cycles.

The interests which the children present will be used to ensure that all aspects of the curriculum are covered. These aspects are making relationships, self-confidence and self-awareness, managing feelings and behaviour, moving and handling, health and self-care, listening and attention, understanding and speaking, reading, writing, numbers, shape, space and measures, people and communities, the world, technology, exploring and using media and materials and being imaginative.
