Our Curriculum

At EHPA we endeavour to provide a happy, safe and caring environment in which children feel, secure and valued.

We aim to develop a climate for learning in which all pupils can grow and flourish, respect others and be respected.  We aim to create safe learning environment in which pupils can express their views, ask questions, challenge others and be confident to give ‘reasoned’ answers.

We provide pupils with access to a varied and relevant curriculum that is broad and balanced with a key focus on the development and application of basic skills. This ensures that by the time pupils leave East Herrington they are well prepared for the following stage of their education. From September 2014 EHPA’s curriculum is broadly based on the key objectives of the revised National Curriculum.

We provide a clear moral code as a basis for behaviour which is promoted consistently through all aspects of school life. We expect children to take responsibility for their actions, to respect property, take care of each other and the environment. Pupils are given opportunities to explore their own values and beliefs whilst gaining an understanding of other cultures and considering the impact that this has on people’s lives.
