Admissions

Nursery Admissions

East Herrington Primary Academy offers up to 15 hours of free Nursery education to 3 – 4 year olds.  We accept children into the Nursery class from the September after the child’s 3rd birthday.  For more information about Nursery admissions and sessions available, please contact the school directly.

Reception Admissions

Children eligible to apply for a Reception class school place will be informed of the process via a letter from Sunderland Council, usually in the September of the preceding academic year.  These letters are distributed via Nursery schools and given to those children registered at their setting.  If your child does not attend a Nursery, please contact the Life, Family and Learning team at Sunderland Council directly on 0191 520 5553 to find out more.

East Herrington Primary Academy’s published admissions policy, including over-subscription criteria, can be found by clicking the document below.  This information is also published on the School Admissions section of Sunderland Council’s website.  PLEASE BE AWARE:  From September 2018 the allocation of places will be updated to include attendance at EHPA Nursery as part of the admissions criteria.

More information on reception admissions is available form Sunderland City Council via this link http://www.sunderland.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=1816

For all in-year admissions (including transfers from outside of Sunderland Local Authority) please contact the school directly for more information and the correct application form. The admissions criteria above will also be applied to all in-year applications.
