National Poetry Day 2016 (posted on 26.10.2016)

Our children celebrated October’s National Poetry Day in a variety of ways, from sharing their favourite poem with their friends, to writing their own poems on everything from mountains to riddles.

Year 6 children dressed up as ‘Word Waiters’ and delivered poems throughout the school. We thought they looked fabulous and everyone enjoyed listening to their poems. Even Mrs Hodgson got a visit from the waiters!

Year 2 have also been busy this term celebrating Roald Dahl Day. They made beautiful dream jars – just like the BFG – and stuffed them with all the wonderful things they would like to come true.
